Palace Sports and Entertainment
Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) is a sports and entertainment company owned by Tom Gores. The company was originally founded by Bill Davidson.
The company owns the Detroit Pistons of the NBA. PS&E also owned the now-defunct Detroit Safari of the CISL, Detroit Fury of the AFL, and Detroit Vipers of the IHL.
PS&E owned the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL,〔(Tampa Bay Lightning Sold To Absolute Hockey )〕 the Asheville Tourists of minor league baseball's South Atlantic League, and it owned the WNBA's Detroit Shock until 2009, when the team was sold to a group of investors from Oklahoma.〔(WNBA's Shock will relocate to Tulsa )〕
PS&E also owns and/or operates several venues including its namesake The Palace of Auburn Hills in Auburn Hills, Michigan and the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan. Meadow Brook Music Festival on the Oakland University campus in neighboring Rochester Hills is owned by Palace Sports and Entertainment; the company is responsible in many aspects of operating the venue, ranging from booking performances to having Palace security personnel work the events.
